Soulful Surrender
I think of you in greys and blues,
Day in, day out,
A monochromed contrast to our favorite sunset hue.
A sprinkling of stardust creates sparkles in the sky,
Breaking through the somber tone of the most quiet night.
I search the clouds and the moon appears,
Peeking through the darkness, a wistful smile for one she holds dear.
“I miss you. Everything.”
The words escape, a whisper to the Universe, in soulful admission,
A surrender.
That perhaps, if we name it, those months and years would remain engraved, immortal,
Forever.
